Whenever Pop was in Essex he always mentioned his favourite simple meal.  He liked to go to the same pub each time he visited. The Bell at Hordon on the Hill is a great gastro pub with an awesome wine list. On one occasion we had young parmesan with olive bread and a glass of merlot. This simple pleasure meant a lot to him  Food and Wine was are common ground and cooking in the French kitchen will bring happy memories for me
